About The Club

The Atlantic Flying Club was established at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport in 1970 by the late Gordan Dressler.  Gordon's plan was to form a club which would make flying affordable for all

The Club is a members owned and operated corporation located on lovely Amelia Island, Florida.  This means upon becoming a member, you actually become part owner.  The club's aircraft(s) is/are owned by it's members.  Not an individual.  The Club is structured in a way to allow all members who can not afford their own airplane an affordable option to fly without paying high rental fees.  The Club does this by calculating the operation costs associated with the airplane and implementing an hourly rate, without profit *(Currently $100.00).  Secondly the fixed costs, hanger fee, insurance, and so forth, are calculated and are covered by monthly dues (Currently $75.00).

There are Flight Regulations that govern the use of our aircraft, but as a member you enjoy most of the privileges of owning your own airplane without the headache.  **You can take the airplane for an hour, a day, a week, and only pay for your actual flight time (minimum 2 hours/day for multiday use.  The aircraft(s) can be scheduled for up to one full year in advance by our online scheduling system.  As mentioned above, calculated into the monthly dues is insurance.  Therefore, there is no need for aircraft rental insurance.

You're covered!
